Invisalign Clear Braces & Fastbraces in Wharton

When patients hear the word orthodontics, they often envision an adolescent with a mouth full of metal brackets and wires. While traditional braces offer predictable and effective treatment for patients of all ages, they also take a significant amount of time to complete typically two or more years and require numerous visits to the orthodontist. Many adults and some teens are simply unable to invest this time in correcting their bite alignment. At David A. Tripulas, DDS, Inc., we offer an alternative – Fastbraces. Most patients complete orthodontic alignment with Fastbraces in as little as six months compared with the 18 to 24 months typical of traditional bracket and wire braces. If you’re interested in finding out more about Fastbraces, contact our team to schedule an orthodontic consultation today.

How Fastbraces Works

The key to Fastbraces is the unique triangular design of their brackets. Traditional braces are square and connected by a series of wires, the brackets place pressure on first the visible part of teeth gradually shifting them closer to their ideal position. The pressure from the top of teeth on the roots then shifts the underlying structures into position. The triangular design of the Fastbraces brackets makes it possible for our team to shift both the roots and crowns of teeth simultaneously significantly reducing treatment time. Additionally, patients report experiencing less discomfort during treatment with Fastbraces compared to traditional bracket and wire braces.

Patients interested in an alternative to the more traditional bracket and wire style of braces might want to consider the Invisalign alignment tray system. Using a series of clear, plastic aligners that each represent a stage closer to the ideal smile alignment, the Invisalign orthodontic system gently shifts teeth into proper alignment in eight to eighteen months. The process is simple. Patients visit our office where we examine their teeth, and determine what the ideal alignment should be. We then capture impressions of patients’ current bite that are used in conjunction with our smile design to craft each set of aligners. Unlike traditional braces, the aligners are removable which means patients do not need to change their diet or oral hygiene routine. Simply remove the alignment trays during meals and while brushing and flossing and return them after. Patients wear each set of aligners for about two weeks and exchange them for the next set in the series.
